Luminous Emerging 2025-2026
A series exploring emergence, transformation and taking flight
Luminous Emerging brings together works created during a period of deep personal and creative transformation. This body of work evolved while I was seriously unwell over several years — a time that required slowing down, listening inwardly, and re-imagining how I moved through the world.
As health and creative energy gradually returned, the works began moving from stillness toward gesture, light, movement and flight. Evolving from earlier icon painting practice, they explore emergence, trust, permeability and the quiet courage of becoming.
Together, the works trace an unfolding movement from inner re-design, toward creative awakening, guidance, awakening and a presence that begins to lift, hold, and carry the wings.

A visual expression honouring what is most important to me, what I treasure most, inwardly and outwardly. A portal of light opens to a divine dimension and within my life angels of the sun and the moon, tenderly supported by my hands, embrace eachother, the natural world below and the greater above through my heart, surrounded by soothing waves

This piece captures a moment of emergence. The hummingbird rises into light, its wings opening through layers of colour, texture and collage.
The work reflects the fragile yet resilient process of becoming — trusting intuition, movement and the unfolding journey from stillness into flight.

Taking Flight

Created through layered watercolor, acrylic ink, drawing and gilding, the work explores emergence as a living ongoing process — fluid, uncertain and luminous. Light appears and dissolves across the surface, reflecting the delicate movement from stillness into flight.
