These workshops took place from April - June 2021 and then a Creative Activity booklet and videos were created to support the project for those who were unable to attend the workshops. - [New City College Recycling Stardust Course](https://lornacarmenmcneill.com/product/new-city-college-recycling-stardust-course/): A series of workshops were developed and run for Level 3 Diploma in Art and Design students at Epping Forest Campus, New City College London - Year 2019-2020, to collect, recycle or upcycle plastic to create a light art installation of the cosmos. The Installation was created as part of an art project to raise awareness on sustainability issues. Sculptures were made from recycled plastic bottles/containers/sheet which were heated, sculpted, re-shaped and painted with glass paint by my students. - [Didcot School Workshops for Chandelier](https://lornacarmenmcneill.com/product/didcot-school-wordshops-for-chandelier/): Inspired by the history of light in Didcot and the magical Iron Age Didcot Mirror, a series of workshops were run with archaeologist Sue Wright from Oxfordshire Museum Services for 120 students aged 12-14 at Aureus School, Didcot. Each child was invited to explore the emotional effects of colour and form and to respond creatively by creating a shape from a piece of recycled thermoplastic and painting it on the theme of what excites or inspires them most in their life. William Herschel was an eighteenth century astronomer, based in Slough. His discoveries have shaped our understanding of the universe. Inspired by Herschel’s discoveries, and the Journey of the Universe Film and Book by Brian Swimme and Mary Evelyn Tucker, I obtained a Grants for The Arts Award from the Arts Council England. Additionally a series of courses to explore Creative Skills and Processes and Unlock Creative Potential are offered as five day workshops, a series of 1-2 day workshops or over 10 individual days which link up to form a complete course. - [Lantern Making Creative Royston](https://lornacarmenmcneill.com/product/lantern-making-creative-royston/): Lantern Making Workshops for Tree of Light, Creative Royston Illumination Festival, Jun-Sept 2015 As part of this project, light art workshops were run for 350 children, from primary school pupils to GCSE students for the Royston Illumination Festival. Over a four month period, we developed the idea of a Tree of Light and created a tree from willow to act as a structural sculpture to bring together and unify the work of Royston's children. With the aim of creating the leaves and the flowers of the tree, workshops were facilitated with children in 7 schools.
