Description
Explore expressive watercolour techniques inspired by great masters including Turner, Blackadder, Trevena and Blockley. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on exercises, you’ll develop a luminous, flowing and expressive approach using mixed watercolour media.
The full 5-week series is designed as a creative journey that builds confidence, freedom and vibrancy in your painting. However, each session is fully self-contained, focusing on at least one key technique — making it easy to join as a standalone workshop.

REVIEWS
“Thank you again for yet another amazing workshop /class on Saturday! It built so well on the discovery and learning from the previous sessions, yet would work perfectly as a standalone session for anybody, regardless of any previous or prior experience. I gained so much from it as I’m sure did the rest of the group!
I previously described the experience and environment you create as:
CELEBRATORY, INSPIRATIONAL and UTTERLY LIBERATING. And, on sharing my work on social media have concluded each time with the tagline:
#justwhenyouthoughttheseworkshopscouldntgetanybetter
Each time you’ve managed to do just that!
Your technique sharing, together with examples of works by yourself and other artists, both celebrates and demonstrates the infinite possibilities of each medium and is especially creatively liberating towards creating a piece, without the limitations which we often place on ourselves by relying on default ways of working. It’s certainly freed up mine!
The pre workshop information is incredibly helpful, outlining the framework of the session, materials and prethinking required. You also create a working environment within the room that fosters trust and enables the participants to explore ways of working which are then celebrated and shared within the room. I never fail to be amazed that, given the framework provided, you are nevertheless able to ‘read’ the creative needs of each member of the group and adapt your personal input to help them reach it. Amazing!
A wonderful experience. Thank you Lorna 🤗. Dave R
